Modules

Module 1: : Introduction: Foundations of Digital Parenting and Digital Citizenship

This module introduces parents to the basics of digital parenting and digital citizenship. It covers essential digital skills, understanding digital citizenship, and strategies for setting expectations and boundaries, such as creating a family media plan.

    Module 2: Setting Boundaries and Screen Time Management

    Summary: Learn effective strategies for managing your child’s screen time. This module includes understanding the impacts of screen time, setting realistic limits, and practical tools for implementing a family media plan.

    • The effects of screen time on children and how to set appropriate limits.
    • Techniques for using tools and apps to manage and monitor screen usage.

    Module 3: Safe and Critical Internet Use

    Module Format:

    SINGLE SESSION Format (2 to 3 hours)

    • Advantages: This format is efficient and suitable for workshops or seminars where time is limited.
    • Disadvantages: Less time for in-depth discussion on each topic, limited interaction, and less opportunity for personalized questions or scenarios.

    TWO-THREE SESSIONS Format (1.5 hours per session)

    • Advantages: More comprehensive coverage of each topic, allowing for in-depth discussions, interactive activities, and personalized guidance. It also gives parents time to absorb information and apply it between sessions.
    • Disadvantages: Requires a greater time commitment from participants and might be challenging to schedule consistently.
